The Mission of the High School Sports Association of San Diego is to promote and celebrate education-based athletics through events that showcase top high athletes and coaches through recognizing achievements of student athletes and adult leaders, and through fostering relationships between our schools, professional groups, and the community.
Bill Stout graduated in 1985 from Calvin University, a liberal arts university in Grand Rapids, MI. An English and psychology major, he began his first teaching job in the fall of 1985 at Calvin Christian HS in Escondido and has been there ever since. In 1997, he assumed the role of Athletic Director. In his 35 year career, he has coached eight different varsity teams in addition to numerous stints coaching jv and junior high level sports. Stout has also served two terms as Chair of CIF Coordinating Council and twenty-two years on the HSSOC, fourteen as the President. A member of the HSSA board for ten years, he is excited to begin his two year term as the President.
